What we're looking for...

The mission of Readiness and Proactive Security (RPS) is to ensure Verizon is resilient to attacks against our people, process, and technology. RPS focuses on testing, measuring, and improving Verizon's capabilities to prevent, detect, and respond to a cyber attack. RPS proactively scans, identifies, validates, exploits, and ensures remediation of vulnerabilities in our technology products through Exposure and Vulnerability Management (EVM).The EVM team is here to strengthen and protect Verizon's information security assets and information.

Verizon is looking for an innovative and self-driven individual with experience in Exposure and Vulnerability Management programs. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the Vulnerability Management scanning platform, perform vulnerability assessments, and provide technical support in maintaining the components of the platform. You will closely work with Global functional organizations, support them with the vulnerability findings and coordinate remediation efforts. In addition, you will be working with internal stakeholders to continuously evaluate and improve the effectiveness of the vulnerability identification platform.

Responsibilities:

  • Managing the vulnerability assessment platform.

  • Automating repetitive manual tasks and other ideas from team members.

  • Maintaining the infrastructure of the platform.

  • Continuously evaluating and improving the vulnerability identification program.

  • Supporting functional organizations with vulnerability assessments.

  • Coordinating with internal and vendor teams to support internal customers technical issues.

  • Driving enterprise visibility of vulnerabilities across all Verizon assets; ensures consistent management and reporting.

  • Evaluating reported "bugs"/vulnerabilities to ensure appropriate triage; this includes facilitating work efforts related to vulnerability scanning deployment and operations.

  • Driving awareness and escalations where applicable.

  • Supporting in creating reports, dashboards, metrics for EVM operations.

You'll need to have:
  • Bachelor's degree or two or more years of work experience.

  • Two or more years of relevant work experience.

  • Experience in Vulnerability Management using Tenable or a similar tool.

  • Experience with one or more scripting languages.

  • Knowledge of security fundamentals and common vulnerabilities.

  • Experience in cybersecurity and/or Security Operations.

Even Better if you have:

  • Knowledge with common security frameworks (SOX, NIST, FISMA, etc.)

  • Comprehensive understanding of vulnerability management and information technologies associated security models - including server/OS, database, hardware, network devices, user compute, application/SDLC, cloud, etc

  • Working knowledge of Data Formats like YAML/XML/JSON

  • Multi-departmental project/program management experience.

  • Experience working with cyber security and vulnerability management at a large company.

  • Strong analytical problem solving skills, detail oriented and organized approach, excellent communication skills, and strong interpersonal skills

  • Ability to translate client and program needs into achievable requirements

  • Experience working with a non-IT business segment.

  • Experience within the telecommunications industry

The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part-time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours. The annual salary range for the location(s) listed on this job requisition based on a full-time schedule is: $72,000.00 - $129,000.00.
