STS Technical Services is hiring Welders in El Paso, Texas to support the repair and refurbishment of military vehicles. This position requires hands-on expertise in MIG and TIG welding techniques, along with the ability to read weld symbols, interpret technical drawings, and operate fabrication tools in a fast-paced, high-quality production environment.

As a Welder, you'll be responsible for setting up and operating a range of welding equipment to complete structural repairs and modifications on military-grade vehicles. This includes both handheld and machine-guided processes such as MIG, TIG, carbon arc gouging, and oxy-acetylene cutting. You'll work with various tools, gauges, and fixtures and collaborate closely with supervisors, engineers, and inspection teams to ensure precise execution.

• Set up and operate MIG, TIG, carbon arc gouging, and oxy-acetylene welding equipment
  
• Interpret weld symbols and execute material joining or build-up work per specifications
  
• Use calipers, weld gauges, squares, and other measuring tools to verify quality and dimensions
  
• Operate support equipment such as cranes, chippers, grinders, and hand tools
  
• Follow all safety, health, and environmental policies and procedures
  
• Work independently or in collaboration with production team members
  
• Pass a written and hands-on weld plate test (administered on-site)
  
• Successfully complete a fit-for-duty medical exam including pulmonary and vision screenings
  

• Proficiency in MIG and TIG welding on aluminum and steel across multiple positions
  
• Ability to read and apply weld symbols from technical drawings
  
• Familiarity with measurement tools and quality assurance procedures
  
• Basic computer literacy or experience with data acquisition systems
  
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
  

• Prior military experience with related MOS (e.g., 63T, 91M, 63D, 91E) is a plus
  
• Ability to perform maintenance or modifications on power plants, fuel systems, hydraulics, and more
  
• Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting experience on military equipment
  

• 2-5 years of welding experience with a high school diploma or GED and welding certifications
  
  OR
  
• 0-1 year of experience with a welding trade school certificate or college degree
  

• 
  

  3 to 5 years of experience in a shop or fabrication environment is highly desirable
