Job Purpose

Review and plan the utilization of plant resources to improve efficiency of all manufacturing operations. Manage the plant layout, part process flow, plan for every part, develop and maintain all plant production standards, etc... Involved with ergonomics projects.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Evaluate current manufacturing practices and process flows and identify those needing improvement.
  • Work to improve production flow and assist in the development of plant layouts for improvements and/or new processes. Host layouts reviews with management.
  • Look for continuous improvement in the production environment. Routinely and randomly audit plant standards to determine level of achievement and report the results to management.
  • Identify problem areas in material flow, material handling, warehouse sizing, WIP locations and sizing, methods, workplace layouts, and work standards. Analyze and make recommendations from the data gathered. Manage the implementation of agreed upon solutions.
  • Prepare CAD drawings, charts, graphs, diagrams, and layouts to illustrate workflow, routings, floor layouts, material handling, and machine utilization.
  • Prepare recommendations for reorganization of work cells and job duties to increase efficiency and eliminate excess process steps and costs.
  • Prepare payback analysis and cost justification as required.
  • Assist program managers by developing material handling, material flow, and man machine methods and ergonomics for new products and programs.
  • Assist with special projects when requested.
  • Perform ergonomics analysis and assist with lifting and moving situations.
  • Lead the development of designs for material handling equipment that interacts with operators, such as operator lift units and structures.
  • Develop and maintain engineering timing in accordance with program managers macro level program timing.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor.



Education Required/Preferred:



  • Bachelor's degree in engineering
  • 1+ years of Industrial Engineering experience
  • Manufacturing Knowledge
  • AutoCAD
  • Strong Computer Skills including Excel
  • Excellent communication skills

* Ability to manage projects and deliver milestones on-time and on-budget.
