Position Summary Information


Primary Purpose
Under general direction of the Assistant AD for Business, the Athletics Financial Analyst I is responsible for the coordination of the financial reporting for the Division of Athletics.
Essential Functions

  1. Provides advice on all matters related to finances and prepare appropriate management reports for financial and business analyses.
  2. Collaborates with the preparation of the annual budget.
  3. Assists with the preparation of the annual Equity In Athletics Disclosure Act report (EADA) and NCAA annual financial data submission.
  4. Prepares long-range financial plans and regular monthly financial reporting for the Department of Athletics.
  5. In collaboration with the Assistant AD for Business, manages the reconciliation process for all Division monthly Procard statements and submissions.
  6. Supports projects, initiatives, and activities that impact the Division of Athletics.
  7. Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned or requested.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree (Two (2) years of full time experience in the same/similar position is equal to one (1) year of completed post high school education coursework).


Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or similar field.

  • NCAA Experience
  • Higher Education experience preferred
  • Experience with BANNER
  • Experience in forecasting budgetary reports


Skills/Knowledge/Expertise:

  • Ability to identify opportunities for improvement and set well-defined goals related to use of best practices or innovation.
  • Proficiency in Office programs such as Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Orchestrate efforts, measure, and report on progress; achieve goals and produce exceptional results.
  • Demonstrated experience with developing process flow charts and identify efficiencies using lean methodologies.
  • Computer skills sufficient to query large data stores, verify data integrity, and organize results in a meaningful way.
  • Ability to perform duties using highest level of confidentiality and respect for others.
  • Excellent writing skills sufficient to draft clear and concise professional reports and correspondence.
  • Strong organizational skills to work independently and to prioritize workload under the pressure of competing assignments.
  • Positive attitude, proven ability to work successfully with diverse populations and demonstrated commitment to promote and enhance diversity and inclusion.
  • Experience and sensitivity in working with people of diverse backgrounds and cultures.
  • Demonstrated experience in advancing social justice, equity, and inclusion in a university setting.
  • Ability to engage and integrate culturally responsive practices and knowledge in their work.

Work is performed in a standard office environment. Work performed during standard business hours, additional hours may be required to meet business needs or deadlines . Infrequent travel.

Valid driver's license required. Incumbent must also be able to meet the University's fleet rules and be eligible to drive for University business. The University and its insurance carrier reserves the right to exclude applicants based on their driving record.
Hiring Range 22.68-30.04 (We consider factors such as, but not limited to, scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's qualifications, internal equity, as well as organizational considerations when extending an offer.
