V3 Companies, a multidisciplinary AEC firm, is seeking a Project Surveyor in our Denver, CO office, where you will contribute to career-defining projects that reimagine our built and natural world.

You'll change the shape of your community by charting plans that become tomorrow's places, creating impact that lasts. And, as part of our Survey team, you will collaborate with 450+ designers, engineers, and scientists to make meaningful, effective change across North America.

Here's what you'll do:

  • The Project Surveyor upholds V3's values and standards by understanding and responding to client needs while providing quality consulting services.
  • Assists in creating property boundaries for roads, pipelines, facility sites, subdivisions, and other right of ways and easements by visibly marking location boundaries under the direction of the survey project manager.
  • Assists in the collection and processing of 3-dimensional field data.
  • Prepares survey documents and computations associated with boundary surveys, ALTA surveys, topographical surveys, etc.
  • Performs project research.
  • Reviews and evaluates survey field notes with supervisor.
  • Prepares survey drawings and descriptions utilizing AutoCAD and other related software packages as directed.
  • Provides construction-related services including construction plan interpretation, computes point data to provide to field crews, and communicates with Client.
  • Reviews applicable reference materials, location specific statutes, and communicates with other survey staff in order to apply and maintain current understanding of surveying terminology and requirements.
  • Understands and applies surveying procedures and regulations and follows appropriate V3 Standards.
  • Proficient in understanding and complying with required safety procedures and practices; works in a safe manner and complies with all safety regulations.
  • Ability to travel for short periods of time.
  • Markets V3's capabilities within the surveying specialty to establish new clients and enhance relationships with existing clients.
  • May perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.

We're looking for:

  • Possesses a strong working knowledge of land surveying.
  • Possesses a high degree of understanding of the principles and practices of surveying.
  • Proficient in mathematics and measurements.
  • Possesses understanding of easements and related research.
  • Possesses a solid understanding of AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
  • Ability to read plans and understand boundary and topography.
  • Understands project schedules and budgets; is able to work efficiently within project guidelines.
  • Communicates in a timely and effective manner within the team and with other disciplines working on the project.
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks and projects.
  • A disciplined, thoughtful performer within a team environment.
  • Conducts oneself consistently in a positive and professional manner.
  • Ability to multitask and establish priorities.
  • Ability to maintain a high-performance level in a fast-paced, accountable environment.
  • Minimum of a high school or technical school training with courses in surveying technology, or equivalent experience.
  • LSIT or CSIT preferred. Must possess and maintain a current driver license in good standing.
  • Three to five years of relevant survey experience.
