Job Summary

The Sr Manager, Commercial Operations - Forecasting & Opportunity Analytics is responsible for leading critical commercial planning and deal governance initiatives. This role will serve as a strategic partner to Sales, Commercial, and Finance teams, overseeing deal analytics and approval, commercial forecast, forecast accuracy to drive disciplined deal execution for improved commercial excellence.

As a senior member of the Commercial Operations team, you will lead the development of tools, processes, and insights that enhance sales performance, pricing governance, and revenue predictability. You'll influence forecasting strategy while ensuring alignment with corporate objectives, margin goals, and long-term business planning.

Duties & Responsibilities

Strategic Forecasting & Business Planning



  • Lead the end-to-end commercial forecasting and demand planning process across products and geographies, aligning outputs with executive planning and financial targets.
  • Guide commercial and finance stakeholders through scenario modeling, pipeline risk assessments, and strategic planning initiatives.
  • Translate commercial trends into actionable financial and demand forecasts and recommendations for leadership and board-level reporting.
  • Act as commercial forecasting lead for quarterly and long-term outlooks, and strategic growth initiatives.
  • Support the S&OP process by creating updated product level demand forecast.


Commercial Deal Strategy & Governance



  • Oversee complex deal structuring and approval workflows, ensuring alignment with pricing, compliance, and strategic guardrails.
  • Partner with Legal, Finance, and Sales leadership on large, custom, or strategic accounts.
  • Drive improvements to commercial policies around pricing, discounts, and contract governance.
  • Act as escalation point for non-standard deal approvals and executive decision support.
  • Own the deal sheet initiatives and deal approval process.


Cross-Functional Leadership & Enablement



  • Influence cross-functional partners (Sales, Marketing, Legal, Finance, Supply Chain) to drive cohesive commercial execution and excellence.
  • Represent Commercial Operations in leadership forums, deal reviews, and strategic planning sessions.
  • Lead initiatives to improve quote-to-cash cycle time and sales forecasting accuracy.


Team & Process Leadership



  • Mentor and potentially manage Commercial Operations analysts or specialists.
  • Lead development and rollout of dashboards, playbooks, and automation tools across commercial workflows.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives leveraging tools like Salesforce, CPQ, and BI platforms.


Minimum & Preferred Qualifications and Experience

Minimum Experience and Skills



  • 10+ years of experience in commercial operations, sales finance, or strategic planning, ideally within medical devices or healthcare.
  • Proven experience driving forecasting and deal governance at the regional or enterprise level.
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen, with the ability to balance strategic thinking with operational execution.
  • High proficiency in systems such as Salesforce, CPQ tools, Anaplan, Excel/Power Query, and BI platforms (Power BI, Tableau).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.


Preferred Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience managing or mentoring teams and leading cross-functional initiatives.
  • Ability to influence senior leadership with data-driven insights and strategic clarity.
  • Comfortable operating in regulated, complex, and high-growth commercial environments.


Education



  • Bachelor's Degree required (Business degree preferred)


Compensation

The anticipated salary range for this position is $130,000 - $180,000 plus benefits. Actual placement within the range is dependent on multiple factors, including but not limited to skills, education, and experience. This position also qualifies for up to 10% annual bonus based on Company, department, and individual performance.

Physical requirements/Work Environment

This position primarily works in an office environment. It requires frequent sitting, standing and walking. Daily use of a computer and other computing and digital devices is required. May stand for extended periods when facilitating meetings or walking in the facilities. Some local travel is necessary.
