Columbia Business School seeks a Staff Associate III for The Tamer Institute for Social Enterprise and Climate to manage research focused on decarbonization technologies and policies of carbon-intensive industries, the power sector, transport, and buildings, as well as conduct independent industry and policy analyses, as part of the Climate Knowledge Initiative (CKI). Research topics include, but are not limited to renewables, nuclear fission & fusion, green liquid fuels, long-term grid storage, decarbonization of steel & cement, transport infrastructure, air capture technologies, and food supply chains. CKI aims to build an innovative online platform that maps the full landscape of emissions sources, abatement technologies, economic sectors, and policy scenarios, and then arms business leaders with the tools and research-backed insights to invest in implementing solutions whose long-term benefits outweigh their short-term costs. The position will leverage linkages between other areas of ongoing work across Columbia, including the Fu Foundation School of Engineering and Applied Science, the School for International and Public Affairs, and the Columbia Climate School.
