HX5 is currently seeking a qualified Systems Administrator in support of the MDA IRES program at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, AL. The Systems Administrator Lead supports the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Specialize in the administration and operations of Microsoft Windows Environments
- Manage system configuration and operation of servers
- Manage, configure, maintain client-based computer systems
- Perform system monitoring, scanning, and response activities
- Perform administration operations and maintenance activities of hardware and software
- Perform root cause analysis to troubleshoot system errors and client system issues
- Perform and maintain DoD Information System Vulnerability Management (IAVM) compliance with routine patching for updates released by vendors
- Manage, update, and maintain configuration management of all configurations changes to systems, patches and antivirus
software updates - Perform system analysis for virtual system (HYPER-V) health status to include resource utilization and performance requirements to ensure optimal performance of systems
- Perform routine scans and anti-virus software updates on all systems
- Perform system automation activities with utilizing scripting tools/languages
- Provide System Administration support for IT related meetings and configuration
Education andExperience:
- Must have 6, or more, years of directly related
- Must have experience with Active Directory and all its components (ADUC, DHCP, DNS, etc.)
- Must have a current DoD 8570.01 IAT Level II Certification (e.g. CompTIA Security+ CE Certification)
- Must have an active DoD Top Secret (w/ SCI eligibility) Security Clearance
Desired Requirements:
- Be proficient in Windows Systems Administration
- Be proficient in Linux Systems Administration
- Have a RedHat certification
- Must have Windows client and server certifications
- Hands on experience with of administration with virtualization solutions (HYPER-V)
- Have knowledge of DevOps tools (Continuous Integration (CI), Continuous Deployment (CD), Docker, Puppet, Ansible,
etc.) - Have basic networking knowledge
- Have experience with automation solutions, systems provisioning and management solutions
- Have experience with scripting or software development
- Have experience with Operating System hardening (DISA STIGs, etc.)
- Have experience with storage systems especially SAN and NAS
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position requiring 40 hours per week and offers a flexible work schedule Monday through Friday during core business hours.
Other Position Requirements:
- Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency is a requirement for this position.
- Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain a Top Secret clearance by date of hire.
- Must be able to travel, including air travel.
- Must have a valid Drivers License.
