Staff Accountant (Law Firm) Location: Midtown - Atlanta On-Site: 5x a week (9am - 5pm) Vaco is seeking a Staff Accountant for a reputable midtown law firm that plays a vital role in the financial operations of the firm, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in accounting processes. This role supports various financial functions, including accounts payable, general ledger maintenance, and compliance-related tasks. Core Responsibilities: Accounts Payable Audit, enter, and post vendor invoices and expense reimbursements, ensuring compliance with firm policies. Research and resolve discrepancies in vendor invoices or statements. Collect and maintain W-9 forms for new vendors. Process rush requests and weekly check runs. Assist the Controller with the annual Form 1099 process. Assist with sales & use tax returns. Reconcile vendor and credit card statements monthly. General Ledger Manage journal entries for recurring and ad hoc transactions (ex: payroll, 401(k), banking, depreciation). Research and reconcile balance sheet accounts. Provide financial reporting support to the Controller. Perform ad hoc financial reporting tasks as needed. Cash Applications Deposit client checks daily Process electronic payment remittances from clients Post payments into client trust accounts, retainers, and open accounts. Assist with billing tasks and client intake processes. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in accounting (required) 4+ years of accounting experience at a law firm (required) ERP systems experience (required) Strong technical, analytical, and communication skills.
