Job Overview: The 3rd Shift CNC Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining metal fabrication equipment including laser cutters, punch presses, and die cutters. This role plays a key part in producing precise, high-quality parts used in durable labeling and identification systems.

Objectives:



  • Accurately fabricate parts to spec, maintaining first-pass yield standards
  • Complete job orders efficiently with minimal rework or downtime
  • Collaborate with teammates to prioritize urgent work and troubleshoot issues
  • Follow all documented work instructions, safety procedures, and job routers
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organized workspace


Responsibilities:



  • Set up and operate CNC and manual fabrication equipment (laser, punch press, shear, die cutter, etc.)
  • Load/unload sheet materials and manage scrap
  • Perform in-process quality checks using measurement tools
  • Read and interpret technical drawings and job proofs
  • Document completion of work and report deviations from spec
  • Assist with minor maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Support other areas as needed during low-volume periods

Qualifications

Qualifications:



  • High School Diploma, GED, or relevant manufacturing experience
  • Prior CNC or sheet metal fabrication experience preferred
  • Ability to read blueprints and use calipers, micrometers, and other measuring tools
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and commitment to quality
  • Excellent reliability and teamwork
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new equipment and processes


Physical Requirements:



  • Ability to stand, bend, and lift throughout an 8-hour shift
  • Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs
  • Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for machine operation
  • Tolerance to work in environments with moderate noise
