SUMMARY: The Technical Service and Sales Representative's primary purpose is to service and expand SNF's agriculture market in West Texas. Responsibilities include working with existing customers to target the use of core SNF products to expand the current business and target new business opportunities. The Technical Service and Sales Representative will report to the General Manager of the Agriculture Business. LOCATION: Home Office: West Texas Area (Amarillo / Lubbock Region). RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in the Company's sales growth and diversification by developing and growing the agriculture market with new or existing chemistries.
- Provide technical assistance and solutions to customers in the field.
- Evaluate fluid properties of polymer projects.
- Startup and maintenance of polymer make-down equipment in the field.
- Maintain a continuous liaison with customers and potential customers.
- Obtain and evaluate external information of possible new markets and applications, dollar volume, pricing, and weigh the benefits that can be offered to a customer.
- Understand the safe handling, health, and safety rules and MSDSs for products in our non-core markets. Explain to customers the safe handling, storage, and use of SNF products. Comply with all safety practices and environmental regulations applicable to the customer site.
- Understand the SNF product range for the agriculture market. Thoroughly understand the list of customers, potential customers, and competitors in the NA market and technically position the SNF product versus the competition.
- Understand the global interfacing of SNF products, applications, and functions, including patents, R&D, technical logistics, sales, production, and planning.
- Follow up on all customer validations, needs, orders, including delivery and quality issues, with sales, customer service, logistics, quality, QC, and R&D as necessary.
- Provide feedback to the R&D or technical departments on existing and potential customer requirements for new or existing products.
- Implementation and integration of new business / new products, where applicable, into our Core Sales organizations.
- Understand environmental legislation and trends related to agricultural market development. Explain to customers the impact of environmental legislation on SNF products.
Requirements
- A Bachelor of Science in Chemistry or Agriculture Sciences or equivalent work experience.
- A minimum of 3 years of technical service or sales experience is required. Knowledge of water-soluble polymers and superabsorbent polymers is preferred.
- Agricultural experience (like a farmer or working at a cotton gin) is a plus.
- Must be a self-starter and self-driven to close sales because this is a remote position.
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, including listening, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Advance in Microsoft Office software.
- Ability to travel at least 50% of the time.
