We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Intern to support key digital, customer relationship management (CRM), and strategic sourcing initiatives across our organization. This internship offers a hands-on opportunity to contribute to high-impact projects with visibility across business units and leadership teams. Interns will also gain real-world operational experience in a laboratory environment and develop a deep understanding of how services are delivered at the customer level.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Operational SOP/Playbook - Digital Solutions

  • Develop and standardize work instructions for digital solutions across customer sites, including:

  • SmartShelves

  • GEN AI - AVA (Avantor Virtual Assistant)

  • Avantor Robots

  • IoT Sensor Solutions

  • Document step-by-step installation and implementation procedures.

  • Create a comprehensive troubleshooting guide and escalation protocol.

  • Design and update integration architecture diagrams, ensuring all connection points are accounted for.

  • Review and update existing SOPs to reflect new digital implementations

2. CRM Rollout - SAP C4C (Cloud for Customer)

  • Lead the gathering of business requirements for CRM capabilities.

  • Develop a standardized "To-Be" process design across various Services business units.

  • Collaborate with IT and stakeholders to configure and implement SAP C4C for enterprise-wide use.

  • Support change management and user adoption planning.

3. US Equipment Services Sourcing Agreement Strategy

  • Partner with Avantor Sourcing to identify existing equipment supplier contracts that require services components.

  • Work directly with suppliers to define, negotiate, and document service-related contract terms.

  • Coordinate with the Commercial team to ensure correct part numbers and service descriptions are reflected in internal systems.

  • Communicate contractual updates and benefits to the Sales team to enable accurate quoting at the point of sale.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

The Intern will work closely with key internal teams, including:

  • Services Operations

  • Customer Success

  • Customer Development

  • Sourcing

  • Sales & Commercial

  • Innovation

  • Data & Analytics

These interactions will provide broad exposure to the inner workings of Avantor's service delivery model and help interns understand how operations, customer engagement, and innovation intersect.

Hands-On Lab & Operational Experience:

In addition to business-focused projects, the intern will spend time in a laboratory setting to:

  • Observe and learn the flow of daily lab operations.

  • Understand how digital and sourcing solutions impact real-time service delivery.

  • Apply classroom knowledge to operational challenges in a scientific work environment.

What We're Looking For:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, Life Sciences, or a related field.

  • Strong analytical, documentation, and process mapping skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Interest in digital transformation, CRM systems (SAP C4C experience a plus), and sourcing/contract strategy.
