Overview

The Relationship Manager of Financial Institutions Group is an experienced level position primarily focused on supporting and maintaining a profitable financial institutions division with safe and sound operations. The Relationship Manager of Financial Institutions Group is expected to participate in the strategic planning of the financial institutions group, while maintaining a strong understanding of external competitive developments. The Relationship Manager of Financial Institutions Group must exercise sound judgement and maximize returns in conjunction with strict adherence to internal, state and federal guidelines.

Responsibilities

    Lead and manage sales and marketing activities of the Renasant Bank Repurchase Agreement Strategy, which include but are not limited to the following:
    • External sales activities to financial institutions will include both prospective and current clients of the Financial Institutions Group
    • Internal sales to Renasant commercial and corporate banking prospects and clients
    • Internal sales activities that include marketing repurchase agreement services directly to Renasant Commercial Bankers through product education, proactive strategies, and direct engagement with commercial prospects and clients with the primary goal of empowering Renasant Commercial Bankers to generate new sources of revenue and new commercial clients for Renasant Bank
  • Work with financial institution clients on all aspects of fixed income securities transactions and active portfolio management.
  • Market direct loans and fixed income securities to well managed financial institutions
  • Manage negotiations with borrowers to ensure the best possible outcome
  • Organize and lead efforts to build out product structure and product enhancement within the financial institutions group by engaging directly with banks to generate other fee-based revenue
  • Oversee the first line of defense as it relates to compliance, operational risk, and enterprise risk management
  • Create a culture of operational excellence compliant with corporate objectives

  • Maintain our Bank culture with the defined set of values and behaviors that all employees use as their compass as one team going to market as one bank
  • Perform other related duties as assigned


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a business-related field or equivalent training and certification through an accredited banking school
  • Minimum of 5 years of commercial lending experience or job-related experience
  • Extensive knowledge of industry products, policies and procedures, operations, and compliance regulations
  • Results-oriented and strong ability to deliver to aggressive financial and business growth targets and strategic initiatives
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Sound knowledge of all banking functions and related operations, bank policies, procedures and applicable Federal and State Banking regulations
  • Ability to effectively lead, motivate and coach others
  • Ability to deal effectively and tactfully with a variety of business contacts, all bank personnel as well as bank customers and prospective customers
  • Sound judgment and problem solving and ability to make key complex decisions independently and with clear thinking and sound logic
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public
  • Ability to travel, including overnight
