Overview

TRC is seeking an experienced Energy Efficiency Outreach Consultant II to engage with new construction stakeholders in working toward New Jersey's clean energy goals. The position works across industries including local governments, commercial and industrial contractors, vendors, and customers regarding the implementation of energy efficiency incentive program offerings.

The selected candidate must reside in New Jersey to be considered for this role. This position will be based in the state of New Jersey.


Responsibilities

Strategic Team Contributor
Leverage your creativity, strategic thinking skills, and understanding of new construction and development to address challenges and contribute to the team's success.

Self-Directed Project Manager
Independently manage and execute standard project tasks with minimal oversight, while applying proven project management skills to meet deliverables and deadlines.

Mentor and Peer Leader
Support the professional development of junior outreach staff by providing task-level oversight, guidance, and modeling of effective practices.

Subject Matter Expert
Serve as a source of outreach knowledge, contributing insights related to methodology, level of effort, and program strategy in alignment with organizational goals.

Innovative Energy Advocate
Champion new ideas and facilitate participation in energy efficiency and decarbonization programs through enthusiastic customer and market engagement.

Multi-Stakeholder Management
Engage directly with developers, contractors, and key customer segments to identify and convert high-potential leads into participating projects.

Strategic Outreach and Networking

  • Conduct sector-targeted outreach campaigns and present at professional
  • Build meaningful relationships to advocate for program participation, including through 1:1 engagements, presentations, and trade show representation.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive outreach strategies that align with the program's objectives and brand.

Operational and KPI Oversight

  • Provide sector intelligence by analyzing trends and summarizing data within specified markets.
  • Track and report on individual KPIs and contribute to team-level performance assessments.
  • Assist in developing annual outreach plans and higher-level reporting deliverables.
  • Maintain and streamline operations documentation related to outreach workflows and customer engagement.

Customer Market Intelligence

Analyze and summarize market and sector-specific trends, informing the outreach strategy and helping identify new engagement opportunities.

CRM Database Management

Manage and track campaigns, opportunities, activities, and contacts in real time using the program's CRM database.

Outreach Team Support & Leadership
Provide leadership when circumstances require it and contribute to the team's ongoing commitment to mutual support.


Qualifications

Education and Background

Bachelor's degree in sustainability, construction management, business, marketing, or a related field. A master's degree is preferred. Relevant work experience may substitute for undergraduate education.

Experience

Minimum 4+ years of experience in outreach, sales, marketing, or program implementation within the energy efficiency sector or a related industry.

Residency and Transportation

New Jersey residency is required. This position requires regular in-state travel; applicants must have a personal vehicle and an unencumbered driver's license (mileage reimbursed).

Communication Skills

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including public speaking and professional writing.

Project Management

Demonstrated ability to independently manage tasks and deadlines, while forecasting and balancing multiple assignments.

CRM and Reporting

Comfortable using CRM platforms to log and report activities. Experience supporting outreach planning documentation and operational streamlining is preferred.

Language Skills

Bilingual communication or translation ability is considered a plus.

Compensation: In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.

Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company's annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.

Salary Range

USD $78,998.00 - USD $95,000.00 /Yr.
