Description and Requirements

Workstation Development and Compliance Director

Lenovo Workstations provide powerful solutions to drive productivity, innovation, and design excellence in key vertical segments such as Engineering/Architecture/CAD, Media & Entertainment, Science, Medical, Energy, and Finance.

To maintain our leadership and compete in this aggressive marketplace, we are looking to enhance our team with additional talent. We are currently seeking a director level leader to drive Workstation product execution within limits of US export restrictions. This leadership position will have a team of cross functional members to manage worldwide compliance starting from initial product development through to manufacturing enablement.

What You'll Do

  • Oversee Workstation products and technology development that's subject to export restrictions
  • Hiring and staffing the team
  • Work with Architects on the design/development of new and innovative products and solutions
  • Interface with all functions related to product launches: Marketing, Procurement, Operations, Quality, Manufacturing, Product Assurance, Development, Software and Service
  • Give direction company wide across all disciplines
  • Document compliance
  • Create, track, and manage schedules
  • Understand development of future technologies and properly assign work within compliance limits
  • Create and manage SOW for vendors/suppliers
  • Interface with external suppliers to manage/track schedule progress
  • Monitor day to day issues, legal changes, product bugs/defects, schedule changes, execution interruptions and their schedules to resolution.
  • Communicate with management on status and issues

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor's in Engineering
  • 5+ years of leadership experience
  • 10+ years overall technical experience
  • Experience with supplier management
  • Knowledge/background in the PC/Workstation industry, including hardware & software
  • Skilled at using Microsoft Office applications (Project, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).

As a global company, Lenovo has relationships with suppliers and teams throughout the world. This position may require morning/evening meetings which occur outside normal working hours, and candidates must be agreeable to a flexible work schedule.

Preferred Requirements:

  • 7+ years of project management experience
  • MBA
  • Very good interpersonal skills and ability to work well within a team
  • Very strong communication skills
  • Strong problem solving and organizational skills
This position will be based in our North America Headquarters in Raleigh, NC. Our office has transitioned to a hybrid work environment supporting 3 days onsite and 2 days remote. Candidates that are already local to Raleigh, NC are preferred.
