DESCRIPTION Under supervision, incumbents perform the full range of social work duties. Provides operational level of social work services consisting of discharge planning, continuing care services and clinical social work services, including crisis intervention, mandated reporting, information and referral coordination of health and mental health services with community providers. The social worker is responsible for education and advocacy of patients, families and/or significant others. Participates in related department functions, such as community and program education. May perform other related duties as assigned. Depending on the experience of the selected candidate, this position will be hired at a Clinical Social Worker II or Clinical Social Worker III level. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS A Master's degree in social work from an accredited organization. At least two years of post MSW experience. In order to be considered for the Clinical Social Worker III, must have at least three years of post MSW experience. Experience working in both in an inpatient acute care hospital unit and outpatient specialty clinic setting. Ability to work collaboratively as a member of a large multidisciplinary team. Must have proven independent thinking, decision making, problem-solving and prioritizing skills. Excellent skills to communicate and influence effectively with all levels of staff, physicians, patients, and external constituents, both verbally and in writing. Excellent ability to multi-task with demanding schedules. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) issued by the state of California. This is preferred for a Clinical Social Worker II, but required if being hired as a Clinical Social Worker III. Bilingual in English/Spanish. Experience in chronic disease management. Strong skills in interdisciplinary collaboration and patient advocacy. Palliative care experience. Experience working as neurology social worker. SPECIAL CONDITIONS Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical. Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs. Pay Transparency Act Annual Full Pay Range: $85,232 - $112,293 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%) Hourly Equivalent: $40.82 - $53.78 Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
