Job Description

Torch Technologies is seeking a Entry-Level Computer Scientist to write software for simulation, electronics, graphics, data processing and optimizations in code, supporting the Strategic Defense Business Unit..

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assists in the design, development, troubleshooting and analysis of software programs for computer. based systems.
• May perform systems modeling, simulation and analysis.
• Designand developbasic compilers, assemblers, utility programs and operating systems.
• Advises hardware design engineers on machine characteristics that affect software systems, such as storage capacity, processing speed and input/output requirements.
• As required, provides inputs for documentation of new or existing programs.
• Will be responsiblefor writing C++ graphics software.
• Will assist in developing math and physic models of military assets.
• Will writesimulation software to create testbeds for systems.
• Will usesoftware to control hardware components.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Computer Engineering disciplines from an accredited University is required.
• Candidate should possess 0-2 years of applicable experience.
• The position will require a base knowledge of coding and an enthusiasm for learning and the ability to write code while learning best coding practices.
• Candidates must be familiar with C/C++ and be willing to learn how to code in many environments, operating systems, even multi-processor clusters.
• The desire to learn the math and physics necessary to model such objects is necessary. Desire is important as the goal is to make the candidate one of an elite group of software developers.
• The candidate will be required to execute existing models and simulations analyzing data against existing results.
• Qualified applicants must have good programming skills, be able to work independently, and take a proactive role to assure that task responsibilities are completed on schedule.
• The selected candidate will be a part of a close nit team of experts, each member of a different discipline.
• Experience in embedded software, hardware and real-time software are assets.
• Must have computer operating systems and tools the candidate should be familiar with includes Microsoft Windows, Red Hat Linux, and Microsoft Office (Access, Excel, Powerpoint, Word).
• Active Secret clearance or ability to obtain is required.
• Inability tomaintain a security clearance will result in candidate being ineligible for this position.
• Up to 10% travel required.
