Purpose
The Contracts Administrator I supports the coordination, preparation, and administration of contracts for construction, utilities, and solar projects. This role assists with project setup, compliance tracking, and document control, while developing foundational skills in contract management, communication, and risk assessment to support overall project and organizational goals.

Company / Entity
- Actively supports the achievement of construction, utilities, and solar objectives by applying knowledge of company's contracting, finance, purchasing, engineering and controls procedures, and construction practices.
- Promotes and protects Teichert's values including diversity, teamwork, fair work environment and respect of others to maintain a "team" spirit within the business unit and on project teams; works and cooperates with other disciplines across company lines to ensure maximum and best uses of Teichert resources.
- Collaborates across area offices and ensures a particular focus on consistency of contract administrative reporting practices and procedures. Adheres to policies, procedures, and standards that protect the company's interests.
- Promotes and protects the community perception of Teichert.
- Support the cultivation of strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and partners to foster timely contract execution and dispute resolution.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including estimating, sales/business development, legal, finance, and operations, to coordinate contract activities and achieve strategic business objectives.
- Assists in achieving a zero-injury culture through supporting safety programs and actively participating in appropriate safety meetings and training sessions in an effort to maintain a safe and healthy work environment and to meet corporate safety standards.
Technical / Specialty Area
- Evaluate job setup documents and assist with compliance requirements including EEO, bonding, insurance, Prelien, and OFCCP.
- Assist in interpreting and applying standards, policies, and procedures related to contract administration.
- Build positive working relationships with internal teams, subcontractors, vendors, and clients, promoting effective communication and a professional company image.
- Organize and maintain internal records, including master agreements, project logs, files, reports, and supporting documents.
- Support the job setup process by entering contract data into internal systems and ensuring the accuracy of project documentation.
- Draft basic subcontracts and purchase orders; review scopes of work and verify compliance with entry-level requirements (e.g. bonds, insurance, waiver documentation).
- Begin to develop familiarity with contract redlining; review subcontractor-requested edits under supervision and prepare draft language for review.
- Manage and track key contract documentation, including bid proposal letters, certificates of insurance, bonds, lien notices, and EEO compliance records.
- Support the contract approval and signature process through document routing and expediting, as needed.
- Gain exposure to project labor compliance and insurance topics relevant to contract administration.
- Build foundational knowledge of collective bargaining agreements (CBAs) and their impact on subcontractor agreements.
- Develop a basic understanding of subcontractor scopes of work and responsibilities.
- Assist with special projects and additional assignments as determined by departmental priorities.

Role Qualifications & Requirements
Education:
- Associate's degree or equivalent combination of technical training and related experience.
- Certified Contract Management Associate (CCMA) from NCMA certification or ability to obtain one desirable.
Experience & Industry Expertise:
- A minimum of one to three (1-3) years' experience in construction subcontracts and contracts or equivalent combination of construction industry experience preferred
Specific Job Requirements:
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug, alcohol, and background investigation.
- Current on all company required safety training.
- Basic knowledge/understanding of Construction Contract requirements and laws.
- Requires use of conventional contracting techniques and concepts.
- Basic understanding of project labor compliance and insurance standards as it relates to contract requirements
- Good knowledge of the various disciplines and procedures within the company.
- Knowledge of company's Standard Operating Policies and Procedures.
- Proficient knowledge of MS 365 Suite, Adobe Products, and DocuSign

HOURLY BASE SALARY RANGE:
$32.48 - $44.44/hr
The range displayed reflects the range the company reasonable expects to pay for the position. The actual base salary is subject to variation due to the role, level, geographic location, relevant education, training, or experience, among other factors.
