Job Title:Truck Maintenance - 1st Shift - Dept. 212

Department:Truck Shops - Fort Smith Garage

Shift Time: 6:00 am - 5:00 pm M-F, Saturdays as needed.

Pay Rate: $16.75 - $21.25/Based on assessment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilitiesinclude the following. Other duties may be assigned.




  1. Fix and replace all tires and wheels dispatched to do so for Bachoco / OK Foods
  2. After removing a tire and wheel it is to be torqued every time it is re-installed
  3. Always communicate with truck shop manager or lead person on anything extra needing done other than what was dispatched to do.
  4. Keep Tire truck clean (you are responsible for the tire truck to be sure it is maintained and kept neat in appearance.)
  5. Keep accurate inventory of all tools that were provided by Bachoco / OK Foods.
  6. You are responsible for replacing lost tools.
  7. If any tools are broken get with Truck shop Manager or Lead Person for replacement.
  8. Check Hub oil on trailer axles every time work is done on a trailer.
  9. Look at brakes and axle seal every time an inside tire is removed and report to shop lead on findings if need replacement so they can plan to do so.
  10. Visually look for any DOT violations on equipment you are working on that need immediate attention.
  11. Visually check spring hangers, torque rods and equalizers on all trailers when removing an inside wheel and tire.
  12. When at shop keep all trash receptacles empty and floors swept if don't have tires to do.
  13. Keep an accurate inventory on all tires and wheels we have in stock and have replaced as needed.
  14. Any extra assignment asked to perform by Truck Shop Manager or Lead Person.

Education and/or Experience

One to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Current driver's license preferred. Upon hire, must be able to obtain ASE certifications in air conditioning, brakes and hydraulics.
