Responsibilities Electrophysiology (EP) Lab Advanced Practitioner Oklahoma Heart Hospital (OHH) Join our team at Oklahoma Heart Hospital, where innovation in cardiac care meets compassionate, patient-centered service. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Nurse Practitioner (APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA) to support our Electrophysiology (EP) Lab. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cardiovascular care and a specific interest or experience in electrophysiology procedures and patient management. Key Responsibilities: EP Procedure Support: Respond promptly to physician calls during EP lab procedures. Provide procedural support and clinical input in cases involving arrhythmia diagnosis and treatment, including device implantations (pacemakers, ICDs), ablations, and loop recorder insertions. Monitor patients intra- and post-procedure, ensuring optimal care and recovery. Clinical Assessment & Management: Conduct comprehensive medical histories and physical exams specific to arrhythmia patients. Order and interpret diagnostic studies such as EKGs, Holter monitors, and EP-specific imaging. Develop differential diagnoses and formulate treatment plans in collaboration with the EP team. Prescribe pharmacological and non-pharmacological therapies within the defined scope of practice. Outpatient Clinic Management: Independently manage an outpatient clinic focused on arrhythmia follow-ups, device checks, and medication titration (e.g., antiarrhythmic drugs, anticoagulants). Evaluate new EP consults and coordinate care with cardiologists and electrophysiologists. Manage anticoagulation therapy (e.g., coumadin clinic patients) and heart failure patients in the EP context. Documentation & Communication: Complete accurate and timely documentation using the S.O.A.P. format. Prepare and dictate detailed reports, H&Ps, progress notes, and discharge summaries. Ensure compliance with medical record documentation and billing requirements. Collaboration & Patient Advocacy: Act as a liaison between patients, families, and the healthcare team to ensure clarity in treatment plans and expectations. Identify and address patient education needs, especially regarding device management and post-ablation care. Professional Contribution: Participate in performance improvement and quality assurance initiatives. Assist in orientation and mentoring of new APPs or clinical staff. Stay current in the field of electrophysiology through continuing education and professional development. Qualifications Nurse Practitioner- National certification from a national certifying body acceptable by the Oklahoma Board of Nursing in the following specialties: Adult Gerontology Acute Care (AG-AC NP) or Acute Care Current BLS certification required. Physician's Assistant - Baccalaureate degree or a minimum of two years of college credit or graduate from ARC-PA (Accreditation Review Commission on education for the Physician Assistant) approved program. Current license as a Physician Assistant with the Oklahoma Board of Medical Licensure. Licensure/Certification: Current BLS certification required. Experience: Cardiology experience preferred.
