The Service Technician supports sales and service operations in Syracuse, NY, working directly at customer paper and pulp mill sites. This role is responsible for performing routine lab testing, supporting chemical programs, maintaining equipment, and monitoring process performance to ensure optimal results.

This position plays a key role in delivering high-quality service, maintaining strong customer relationships, and ensuring safe and efficient plant operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine on-site testing, monitoring, and data entry; contribute to service report preparation
  • Partner with customers to identify and resolve issues related to chemical applications or equipment performance
  • Manage and track product inventory, including chemical deliveries, transfers, and offloading into customer storage tanks
  • Adjust chemical feed rates based on testing results to optimize system performance
  • Execute field trials, deliver chemicals, and accurately document performance data
  • Proactively identify issues or improvement opportunities and communicate them to the Site Manager or Support Engineer
  • Assist in troubleshooting equipment and process challenges
  • Conduct expanded testing of process variables to evaluate dosing improvements or mechanical impacts
  • Set up, maintain, and troubleshoot chemical feed and monitoring equipment
  • Collaborate with internal teams and customer personnel to ensure optimal program performance
  • Maintain detailed records and adhere to all safety standards and protocols
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working with mechanical and electrical systems in an industrial environment
  • Chemical handling experience preferred, but not required
  • Must reside within 45 minutes of the Syracuse, NY customer site
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including:
    • Primarily Monday-Friday day shift
    • Rotating weekend overtime
    • Occasional after-hours service calls as needed

The expected compensation range for this position is between $43,600.00 and $63,943.00 plus discretionary bonuses. The exact compensation may vary based on your skills, experience and other factors permitted by law.
