POSITION SPECIFICS

The laboratory of Dr. Anderson at The Pennsylvania State University seeks an Assistant Research Professor, to work as part of a research team focused on emergency food resilience. The successful candidate will design, perform, and analyze experiments to test the conversion of non-edible plant biomass into edible foods, and will perform life-cycle analysis of alternative systems for food production.

The successful applicant must have the ability to plan, execute, interpret, document, and troubleshoot independent research and to collaborate effectively with other computational and experimental members of a diverse research team. The successful candidate will excel at mentoring junior members of the lab, contribute to the writing of manuscripts and grants, and communicate their science to peers and the public through presentations, writing, and digital formats. Excellent organization and verbal and written English communication skills are required. Professional development through the acquisition of new skills will be expected.

This position requires a Ph.D. in a scientific field relevant to the proposed project.
