Job Description




Allied Universal is hiring a Director, Solution Architecture. The Director, Solution Architecture will lead the design and implementation of enterprise-wide IT solutions that align with business goals, technical strategy, and security industry best practices. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in architecting scalable, secure, and high-performing systems while collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and efficiency.

The Director will be located at our corporate headquarters in Irvine, CA, and will report directly to our SVP of IT Applications and Enterprise Architecture.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Solution Design and Architecture: Develop end-to-end solution architectures that align with business needs and IT strategy.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with business stakeholders, product managers, and technical teams to define requirements and ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Technology Evaluation: Assess emerging technologies and provide recommendations to enhance system capabilities and business value.
  • Application and Systems Integration: Perform hands-on design of integrations between applications and systems both internal and external; design data models, data management, and dataflow to support the integrations.
  • Technical Leadership: Guide development teams on best practices, architecture standards, and technical strategies to ensure high-quality solutions.
  • Performance Optimization: Design systems for scalability, reliability, and performance while ensuring cost-effectiveness.
  • Hosting Integration Strategy: Define hosting integration architectures for cloud, on-premise, and hybrid environments, ensuring seamless interoperability.
  • Security and Compliance: Ensure that solutions adhere to security best practices, compliance requirements, and industry regulations.
  • Documentation and Standards: Create and maintain technical documentation, architectural diagrams, and best practice guidelines.

QUALIFICATIONS (MUST HAVE):

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • Minimum of ten (10) years in IT architecture, solution design, or software engineering roles
  • Proficiency and experience in Microsoft SQL Server including programming T-SQL., SSIS, SSRS, C#, .NET, and familiarity with modern frameworks
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a strategic mindset
  • Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud), microservices architecture, APIs, DevOps, and enterprise integration patterns. Knowledge and experience in Agile and DevOps methodologies
  • Understanding of security frameworks, data protection, and regulatory compliance requirements
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for business stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative, successfully handle and prioritize multiple competing assignments and effectively manage deadlines

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (NICE TO HAVE):

  • Experience using CI/CD with Microsoft Team Foundation Server (TFS)
  • Experience with the PEGA platform including methods of development and configuration

BENEFITS:

  • Pay: $145,000 - $165,000 base salary with 20% annual bonus eligibility
  • Medical, dental, vision, basic life, AD&D, and disability insurance
  • Enrollment in our company's 401(k)plan, subject to eligibility requirements
  • Eight paid holidays annually, five sick days, and four personal days
  • Vacation time offered at an accrual rate of 3.08 hours biweekly. Unused vacation is only paid out where required by law.
