Lead Heavy Equipment Operator

We are looking for a Lead Equipment Operator to join the team at JED Landfill in Saint Cloud, Florida. Previous landfill or waste experience would be a hugeplus.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform general labor duties around Landfill
• Work in all weather conditions
• Executes precautions to ensure safety and compliance with Company and OSHA standards and regulations.
• Will be required to operate various equipment; compactors, dozers, graders, tractors, backhoes, front-end loaders, dump trucks, etc. as needed.
• Executes necessary precautions to ensure safety and compliance with the company, OSHA, and other standards and regulations.
• Assists in overseeing personnel needs of the site including coaching, training and evaluating employee performance.
• Assigning employees and equipment to facilitate task completion
• Interacts with Landfill customers to ensure customer satisfaction and improve efficiency
• Perform general labor duties around Landfill

• Work in all weather conditions

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:

• The work environment is an outdoor landfill setting. The employee will work near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and vibrations. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. Areas are clean, ventilated, and well lit.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Must have 2+ years of heavy equipment operator experience
• Must have valid Driver's License
• Must be able to Read and Write
• Requires basic math skills - add, subtract, multiply, and divide
• Must have basic computer skills to email and scan documents
• Will be required to analyze a repeating situation and make basic decisions
• Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs. repeatedly
