Enterprise Services Engineer (Exchange)

We are seeking an experienced Enterprise Services Engineer (Exchange SME) to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of enterprise Microsoft Exchange environments. This role provides technical leadership in data management, messaging architecture, automation, and system integration in a classified mission-critical ecosystem.

Provide technical leadership in enterprise data and messaging solutions with a focus on Microsoft Exchange (on-prem, hybrid, Exchange Online).

• Architect and implement Exchange infrastructure, including migrations, integrations, and new deployments.

• Develop PowerShell scripts to automate administrative tasks and improve efficiency across the enterprise.

• Troubleshoot and resolve complex Exchange issues across on-prem and cloud environments.

• Collaborate with other IT teams, stakeholders, and vendors to ensure secure, high-performance email and messaging systems.

• Create and maintain system documentation, operational procedures, and technical knowledge articles.

• Participate in enterprise information/data management and governance initiatives.

• Apply data modeling, metadata management, and IT architecture standards across messaging solutions.

• Drive innovation and improvements in Exchange architecture, performance, and reliability.

• Support system architecture planning in coordination with broader infrastructure and network teams.

• Education & Experience:

  • Minimum of 8 years with BS/BA, 6 years with MS/MA, or 3 years with PhD

  • Additional 4+ years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree

• Security Clearance:

  • TS/SCI clearance adjudication or ability to obtain SCI

• Certifications:

  • Must hold a current DoD 8570.1-M IAT Level III certification (e.g., CASP)

• Technical Experience:

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Exchange Server (on-prem, hybrid, Exchange Online, M365)

  • Proficiency with PowerShell scripting for task automation

  • Working knowledge of Active Directory, SharePoint metadata, Exchange databases, and supporting services

  • Experience with both physical and virtual infrastructure running operating systems such as Windows, Linux, Solaris, UNIX, or AIX

• ITIL Foundations certification

• Familiarity with enterprise data governance, metadata management, and messaging best practices.

• Experience supporting classified or DoD IT environments.
