Facility Operations

Job Description

Nature of Work
Perform skilled journeyman level work in the repair, maintenance, and application of various roofing systems.

Key Responsibilities
* Inspect, repair, and maintain various roofing systems on campus, including shingles, slate, standing seam, single ply (EPDM,TPO,PVC), and BUR (built up asphalt systems). Repair and maintain flashings, valleys, gutters, downspouts, drains and other related items.
* Responsible for observing and enforcing all safety requirements, including wearing a harness when necessary.
* Responsible for finding and repairing roof leaks on multiple systems, as well as working with building occupants to schedule leak investigations.
* Clean, maintain, safely use and store all tools and equipment. All tools and equipment are provided.
* Lift/Boom experience is desired but not required. Lift training will be provided to qualified individuals.
* Perform other duties as assigned including during inclement weather.

Shift

7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. or 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Monday through Friday

Minimum Qualifications

* A high school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired is necessary.
* Four years of actual work experience and training including the equivalent of apprenticeship or vocational training in the trade.
* Ability to read blueprints, plans, and drawings.
* Skill in maintenance and use of tools, equipment and materials of applicable trade.
* A valid driver's license may be required.
* A person working in this classification will need on a daily basis, to be able to:
- Grasp, lift, maneuver, rotate, and otherwise use small to large trades tools and equipment.
- Grasp, lift, carry, and set down heavy (50-80 lbs.) objects on a daily basis.
- Grasp, turn, twist, pull, push, left, and otherwise move equipment, controls, parts, etc.
- Visually assess maintenance, construction and repair needs.
- Climb and work from ladders, stairs, and scaffolding.
* Depending on the nature of work performed, the incumbent may be required to wear a respirator and/or self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) as outlined in the "Industrial Standard for Respirator Use".

Preferred Qualifications

A valid driver's license which will allow the legal operation of a motor vehicle in the State of Missouri is required.

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour

Grade: GGS-E
