Eligible candidates are hired (offer accepted) into a Full or Part time PSS positions.
Bonus amount prorated for Part time hires, per diem hires are ineligible.

Current MaineHealth member employees are ineligible; former MaineHealth Members are ineligible until greater than 6 months separation from employment.

This is a full-time, 40 hour per week position.
After 90 days, this position has one day of Remote/WFH each week.

Behavioral Health Care | MaineHealth Mid Coast Hospital is searching for a Patient Service Specialist (PSS)! The PSS will serve as the first point of contact for all new patient request. This role is responsible for answering incoming calls, responding to patient inquiries, and calling patients back as needed. The PSS will assist with scheduling initial appointments and manage new patient paperwork, ensuring all forms are accurately completed and processed. Additional responsibilities include data entry, maintaining and updating patient records, and retrieving necessary documentation to support smooth patient onboarding. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced medical environment.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

1. Education: High school diploma or GED preferred.
2. License/Certifications: N/A
3. Experience: Six months of medical office experience required.
4. Additional Skills/Requirements Required: N/A
5. Additional Skills/Requirements Preferred: Proficient computer skills.
