Job Description

Finance Analyst II

Job Summary:

This finance team has a robust portfolio of programs in Torrance, CA. Work directly with the Program Management office to budget, forecast, analyze, report on, and manage program financial performance. This role will be responsible for oversight of program cost baselines, variance analytic reporting, and the regular Estimate-at-Complete (EAC) process.

Job Responsibilities:



  • Provide financial analysis, monitor trends, and be able to accurately interpret the results in support of the Program Office on a variety of program engagements.


  • Partner with the Program Manager to create and influence the baselining of programs, including establishing milestone billing plan, and conducting rolling wave planning in accordance with company processes and program requirements.


  • Work closely with Program Manager and Leads to ensure costs are accurate and comprehensive.


  • Drive the process for periodic cost, revenue, and billings forecast updates and reviews.


  • Prepare financial data charts for Program and Customer Reviews


  • Provide weekly/monthly variance analysis; highlight trends, assess financial risk, and recommend corrective actions.


  • Work closely withtheFinancial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) groupand Global Order Sales (GOS) to support invoicing and cash forecasting.


  • Interface with theFP&A group to ensure proper accounting treatment and methods are aligned with company processes and policies.


  • Support audits of financial information by internal and external auditors


  • Working with the contracts department for funding, billings, and other contractual items


  • Developing and monitoring program risks and opportunities, such as cost overruns and scheduling delays


  • Developing financial forecasts and deeply analyzing project estimates at completion



Required Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance or a related discipline


  • Ideally 2+ years' relevant experience
  • Experience in forecasting, budgeting and variance analysis


  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and present financial data to other functions in an accurate, concise, and understandable manner


  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office Applications (MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint)



Preferred Qualifications:



  • Experience with Deltek Cobra, Oracle, Deltek Cost Point, ProPricer or other cost accounting systems


  • EVM (earned value management)


  • Experience in the Aerospace & Defense Industry



Location:



  • Candidate must live within a commutable distance toTorrance, CA


  • Hybrid:3 days in office

This position requires you to access information that is subject to U.S. export regulations. Full-time equivalent annual salary range: $71,000 - $142,400 for a Level II in Torrance, CA.

The disclosed salary range is a guideline for Mercury team members employed at the job level at the location listed and does not include overtime for eligible hourly employees.
