Job Type: HYBRID - Pittsburgh, PA

*NOTE: This position is a Hybrid position and is required to be onsite in Pittsburgh, PA at least 3 days per week.

Job Summary

The Associate Data Analyst supports data-driven decision-making in Operations by leveraging manufacturing and operational data to drive process improvement, enhance data integrity, monitor data flows and results, and contribute to smart manufacturing initiatives. This involves performing analytics, dashboard development, and data quality improvement. This role also supports MES (Manufacturing Execution System) efforts to enhance data collection and improve the modeling process. The Associate Data Analyst's scope includes data governance responsibilities and cross-functional collaboration.

Essential Functions

  • Use SQL, Power BI, Python, and business intelligence tools to support data requests and to create and maintain dashboards and reports.
  • Run descriptive analyses and participate in trend and anomaly identification.
  • Translate operational data into insights that inform decision-making and drive efficiency.
  • Perform hands-on MES modeling tasks, when needed, using Op-center or other platforms.
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects focused on optimizing data collection and modeling structures within MES and other operational systems.
  • Investigate and implement ways to automate or standardize MES configuration tasks to improve development speed.
  • Onboard datasets into data warehouses and the advanced manufacturing platform.
  • Contextualize and map data from MES, ERP, SCADA, and IoT systems.
  • Complete predictive analytics projects.
  • Contribute to metadata management and data cleaning and tagging to improve transparency and traceability.
  • Monitor data quality issues and collaborate with functional stakeholders to resolve them.
  • Apply internal data governance practices related to naming conventions, validation, and data classification.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (IT, Engineering, Quality, Operations) to understand data needs.
  • Maintain clear documentation of data sources, logic, and analysis outcomes.
  • Follow strict QA/RA processes for system validation and regulatory compliance, and department SOPs for change management and documentation.

Required/Preferred Education and Experience

  • Associate's degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field required; Bachelor's degree preferred, or a compelling combination of education, certifications, and experience
  • 1 - 2 years of relevant experience required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Familiarity with Python and/or other scripting languages required.
  • Experience with BI tools such as Power BI, Grafana, or Tableau required.
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn in a regulated environment required.
  • SQL Queries/Data Selection, Joins, Complex Queries, Data Definition required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of executives, managers, engineers, and production personnel required.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Power Point, Project, Word) required.
  • Experience applying cGMP and Lean Concepts preferred.
  • Project Management experience preferred.
  • Experience with medical device manufacturing and/or FDA regulated environment preferred.
  • Agile/Scrum Experience strongly preferred.
