Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates professional responsibility in the role of the PCT.
  • Complies with personnel policies and hospital safety policies.
  • Maintains confidentiality when interacting with patients, families, personnel and the public.
  • Performs duties as directed by the Director of Clinical Services and/or Charge Nurse.
  • Reports any problems to the Charge Nurse and/or Director of Clinical Services in a timely manner.
  • Demonstrates skills and judgment necessary to provide direct care to patients under the direct supervision of licensed personnel.
  • Observes and reports patient status and needs.
  • Answers call lights and attends to / reports patient needs.
  • Obtains I & O's, vital signs and reports results.
  • Performs Glucometer testing and reports results.
  • Demonstrates skills and judgment necessary to provide non-direct patient care/support services to staff under the direction of licensed personnel.
  • Assists with maintaining a safe, clean and orderly environment.
  • Operates all equipment and performs all procedures/care in a safe manner
  • Demonstrates proper body mechanics in all activities.
  • Cleans and stocks supplies and equipment as directed.
  • Receives and directs phone calls promptly and accurately following hospital etiquette guidelines.
  • Maintains current knowledge/certification.
  • Supports and promotes Infection control, Safety and Risk Management Programs.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Basic Life Support required within 30 days of hire.

Preferred Job Requirements:

  • Completion of approved CNA, PCT or paramedic certification or currently enrolled in nursing school
