Versar Global Solutions is currently looking for a full-time Project Manager to manage, direct, and supervise a project delivering primary roadway asset maintenance services to the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT). The Project Manager (PM) provides overall management of the project to include client management, achieving quality standards, workplace/public safety, workforce scheduling, budget control, contract compliance and reporting.

Responsibilities:

  • Serves as the company's Project Manager and team leader for a single project performing routine maintenance of highway infrastructure, e.g. drainage structures, pavement, line striping, landscaping, signage, bridges, etc.
  • Oversight of personnel and subcontractors in the performance of field operations and maintenance activities.
  • Ensures work is performed on time and within budget.
  • Ownership and implementation of the company safety program to include updating the project safety plan, conducting safety training, regulatory compliance, and promoting the overall safe operation and culture of the company.
  • Directs employees in the execution of client projects to include oversight of daily operations, logistics coordination, staff identification, third party claims, customer service requests, problem and conflict resolution, quality assurance, deliverable submission and other requirements defined under the client scope of services.
  • Manages all aspects of scope, schedule and budget to drive efficiency and financial success at the project level.
  • Serves as the main point of contact for the FDOT.
  • Manages client relationship to communicate accomplishment of performance objectives, submission of reports in a timely manner, and respond to inquiries.
  • Maintain highway asset condition to required performance, procedural, regulatory and legal standards, as applicable.
  • Achieve and maintain all client rating program score requirements for both the Maintenance Ratings Program (MRP) and the Asset Maintenance Contractor Performance Evaluation Report (AMPER).
  • Assists the roadway supervisors in establishing work plans, methods, budgets and staffing, and verifies reports relating to maintenance/repair activities.
  • Regularly validates highway inspections to ensure full maintenance needs are met per contract specifications.
  • Must be able to respond to emergency situations and events (e.g. hurricanes, floods, etc.) twenty-four hours a day.
  • Travel throughout the region may be required, vehicle will be necessary with valid driver's license.
  • Works with company support functions to provide necessary level of support and communication to field operations.
  • Ensures compliance with company processes, policies and procedures, and contract requirements.
  • Understand and abide by the standards set forth for ethical behavior and integrity as detailed in the Company's Code of Business Conduct.
  • Perform all other duties as prescribed by management.

Qualifications:

  • Fifteen (15) years of overall experience with 10 years of progressive experience supervising, managing or leading teams and resources.
  • Associates degree in management, technical or engineering related field. High school diploma or equivalent plus ten years of field operations supervisory experience acceptable.
  • Five (5) years of experience in operations management or supervision preferably in transportation, engineering, or maintenance field. Experience in a state or local DOT or private toll authority a plus.
  • Experience as an area operations manager or inspector on large scale projects.
  • Must be able to assist in the development of a project work plan, monitor manpower and performance against that work plan.
  • Must be able to manage the various projects using established controls and procedures and provide field leadership in all areas of scheduling, safety, quality, coordination with the subcontractors and any critical issues pertinent to the project or the client / facility.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and experience with various types of building components and systems.
  • Electrical experience with knowledge of fire detection and suppression systems a plus.
  • Utilizes experience and working knowledge of equipment, tools, and methods commonly applied in repairing HVAC in commercial buildings to mentor the team and develop technicians.
  • Strong facilities maintenance background with experience of inspection requirements for various maintenance management activities
  • Proficient in basic computer skills utilizing Windows/Outlook/Word/Excel and internal scheduling applications
  • Strong interpersonal skills with strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be available to work alternate work hours on as needed basis.
  • Must possess and maintain an active and valid Florida driver's license without restrictions.
  • Must be proficient in English, both written and verbal, to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Successful results of preemployment screenings, including federal background check, MVR, and drug screen.
  • Comply with company drug and alcohol policy.
  • Be authorized to work in the US or will be authorized by the successful candidate's start date.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in management or related field
  • Experience with heavy equipment/machinery operation
  • Knowledge of FDOT Standard Plans
  • OSHA 30 Hour certified required
  • Bilingual in Spanish
