We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Grant Writer & Business Development Lead to support and grow our Transportation Department in Ohio. This dual-role position combines strategic grant writing with proactive business development to secure funding, build partnerships, and expand our transportation initiatives across the state.
Primary Functions
Grant Writing & Management
- Research, identify, and evaluate federal, state, and local grant opportunities aligned with transportation initiatives.
- Lead the development and submission of compelling grant proposals, letters of intent, and supporting documentation.
- Collaborate with program staff, finance, and leadership to gather data and ensure alignment with funding requirements.
- Track grant deadlines, reporting requirements, and compliance metrics.
- Maintain a comprehensive grant calendar and database of submissions and outcomes.
Business Development
- Identify and pursue new funding sources, strategic partnerships, and business opportunities to support transportation programs.
- Represent the organization at industry events, conferences, and stakeholder meetings across Ohio.
- Develop and maintain relationships with government agencies, municipalities, and private sector partners.
- Support the creation of marketing materials, pitch decks, and proposals for new business opportunities.
- Analyze market trends and funding landscapes to inform strategic planning.
Qualification
- Minimum 5 years of experience in grant writing, with a strong track record of successful awards.
- Experience in business development, preferably in the public sector or transportation industry.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and project management abilities.
- Knowledge of transportation policy, infrastructure funding, and Ohio's regional planning landscape is a plus.
Desired Education
Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Urban Planning, Transportation, Communications, or related field (Master's preferred).
