We are seeking a Managing Director to join and help lead our rapidly growing Compensation Resources Practice. This individual will serve as a senior leader within the practice, responsible for delivering high-impact compensation consulting services to clients across a range of industries. The Managing Director will play a critical role in shaping client strategy, driving business development, overseeing complex engagements, and mentoring a team of consultants. In addition to managing client relationships and project execution, the individual will contribute to the continued growth and development of the Compensation Resources Practice through thought leadership, innovation, and operational excellence.

What Work You Will be Responsible For:

  • Leads and oversees compensation consulting engagements, guiding the design, development, and execution of complex compensation strategies and programs for a diverse client base. Responsibilities include:

    • Strategic peer group development and in-depth market research

    • Oversight and review of market pricing using surveys, public filings (e.g., proxies, Form 990s), and other benchmarks

    • High-level direction and quality assurance of deliverables including reports, plan documents, modeling, and communications

    • Ensures projects are delivered with exceptional quality, within scope, on time, and within budget

  • Serves as a trusted advisor to senior client stakeholders, providing strategic guidance on compensation design, governance, regulatory implications, and competitive positioning. Regularly leads client meetings to present findings, drive decisions, and align compensation strategies with business objectives.

  • Drives business development efforts by cultivating new client relationships, expanding existing accounts, and leading proposal development. Proactively identifies market opportunities and leads pursuits to meet or exceed individual and practice revenue goals.

  • Provides leadership and mentorship to team members. Delegates assignments to Directors, Managers, and Analysts, and ensures appropriate staffing, coaching, and performance feedback. Maintains ultimate accountability for the quality and timeliness of work delivered by the team.

  • Maintains a strong personal contribution to technical work, including conducting complex analyses, reviewing modeling, and synthesizing insights into actionable recommendations.

  • Serves as a subject matter expert and thought leader in compensation consulting, contributing to firm development, training, and external visibility through speaking, writing, and networking.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree required, Human Resources, Finance, Psychology, or related discipline.

  • A minimum of 12 years of related experience is required, with recent or current experience in the professional services industry.

Preferred/Desired Qualifications:

  • CCP and/or SHRM/PHR certification is preferred
