Title: Maintenance Technician
Location: Oklahoma City, OK 73111
Mode: Onsite
Duration: 3+ Months
Pay rate: $22.40/hr. on w2 Without benefits.
Shift timings: Monday through Friday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm
ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Utilizing various power and hand tools to construct, install, repair, clean or tend various parts of the physical plant and buildings.
- Perform tasks involving general maintenance and upkeep of FACILITY facilities, including building, plumbing, heating, electrical and other systems, equipment, and machinery.
- Installs, maintains, and repairs valves, faucets, traps, sinks, wash bowls, etc., and performs other minor plumbing repair tasks.
- Maintains and repairs wiring, light fixtures, receptacles, and switches, replace light bults, etc., and performs other minor electrical repair tasks.
- Change lightbulbs and ballasts in florescent light fixtures while standing on ladder up to 12 feet above the floor.
- Perform ground maintenance tasks including mowing and ice and snow removal.
- Operates and performs maintenance and repair tasks on lawn and garden equipment.
- Performs landscape activities, such as laying out, planning and maintenance of lawns, flower beds, shrubs, trees, etc.
- Fertilizes and applies insecticides, herbicides, and fungicides for pest control on trees, lawns, and gardens.
- Loads and transports soil and fertilizers; cultivates and weeds soil for gardens or lawns; levels and seeds new lawns.
- Mows and trims grass with hand and power mowers, operates truck, riding mowers, and utility or compact tractor to brush hog, grade, and maintain trails.
- Loading supplies and equipment on vehicles.
- Prepares new and old surfaces for painting and finishing by use of sandpaper, burners, scrappers, and sanding machines, putties, plasters, caulks, or otherwise fills and repairs cracks and holes, applies finish or paint by brush, roller, or spray gun.
- Operates various hand and power tools to assemble, adjust or repair furniture and equipment.
- Completes reports of equipment operations, installation and maintenance work performed, and materials, supplies and equipment used.
- Monitors and responds to facility and equipment alarms and system failures including alerts outside of normal operating hours.
- Communicate repair and maintenance needs to supervisor.
- Keeps supervisor informed of current or changing events regarding the tasks and responsibilities assigned.
- Move equipment and furniture within one day of request.
- May be required to fill in for other Maintenance, Janitorial or Warehouse staff in their absence.
- Tracking and maintaining an adequate supply of certain inventory items.
- Receiving, storing, and distributing supplies and equipment to satellite locations.
- Entering inventory into computer system.
- Assists with the operation and maintenance of FACILITY vehicles.
- Driving to various off-site locations to perform job duties as needed.
- Completes required training in support of duties and responsibilities of this position.
- At the direction of the FACILITY Chief Executive Officer and Chief Health Office or designee, the incumbent will be assigned a variety of specific job duties and responsibilities as a member of the FACILITY Emergency Preparedness and Response Program Team (i.e., Public Health Preparedness and Response Program). Also, as a member of the Emergency Preparedness and Response Program Team, the incumbent is required to complete all necessary emergency responder training and may be designated as a member of the first-responder team.
- In accordance with our designation of a PHAB Accredited health department and explicit commitment to a culture of continuous quality improvement, employees will receive Quality Improvement (QI) training deemed necessary by their supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- One year of general maintenance and repair experience required.
- Valid Oklahoma driver license required.
