Job Summary

The Client Solutions Technical Specialist is customer and sales facing, pre-sales technologist that acts as a value-added technical advocate for CDW sellers and customers. The Technical Specialist is responsible for understanding customers' business requirements as they pertain to client or end-point technologies (including devices such as notebooks or desktops, hardware components, software, operating systems, etc.), qualifying opportunities and creating designs that match the requirements with appropriate products, managed and professional services. The Technical Specialist has subject matter expertise of endpoint or client solutions and has a basic awareness of adjacent technology solutions. In addition, a Technical Specialist is competent at positioning implementation services within their line of business (LOB).

What you'll do

  • Collaboratively work with Account Managers, Presales Account Executives, ISA's and FSA's and Partner stakeholders to identify and facilitate opportunities
  • Provide weekly/monthly/quarterly sales forecasting and visibility activity by keeping a current pipeline using forecasting tools
  • Work with sales management to identify specific behaviors, knowledge, and skill areas for focus and evaluation for development of the general Account Manager audience
  • Present logical and well-organized arguments, data, and concrete business examples
  • Clearly explain relevant facts, effectively distinguish product offerings from competitors, offer product configuration / pricing / program assistance, and present a well-prepared compelling case to the customer for purchase of Product Line solutions
  • Attain quarterly and annual sales quota
  • Conduct high level conversations and training presentations
  • Consistently build and deliver on account and opportunity pipeline
  • Drive sales and profitability for a specific product line
  • Follow-up on and qualify leads
  • Generate new business opportunities to grow pipeline
  • Identify key decision makers and manage the sales process
  • Increase rapid acceptance of the Product line through: Developing a thorough understanding of the portfolio, defining and articulating a strategy and solution by customer or vertical, partnering with other teams to align horizontal solutions with key accounts

What we expect of you

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Information Technology, Engineering, Mathematics or a related technical field
  • At least 3 years of related work experience in a technical solution focused role, including experience in presales engineering and/or sales in a Systems Integrator, OEM, or similar environment

Preferred skills, experience, and qualities needed

  • 2 years of experience in pre-sales engineering and/or sales in a Systems Integrator, OEM, or similar environment
  • Relevant certifications in client device hardware and software
  • Certifications in one or more OEMs.
  • 3 years of experience in pre-sales engineering and/or sales in a Systems Integrator, OEM, or similar environment.
  • Relevant certifications in area of specialty.
  • 2 years billable consulting experience.
  • 2 years of experience with leading teams in a client or consulting project environment.
  • 2 years of experience with Client, OEM or VAR based partner management.
  • Demonstrated experience in the selling and delivery of multi-million-dollar enterprise-size, complex projects.

Pay range: $66,000 - $97,200 depending on experience and skill set

Annual bonus target of 10% subject to terms and conditions of plan
