Position Title: SBA Portfolio Servicing Officer Business Unit: Commercial Banking Reports to: SBA Portfolio Servicing Manager Position Overview: This position is primarily responsible for managing a portfolio of SBA loans and performing all servicing actions as required by the Bank and SBA policies and procedures in order to maintain and preserve SBA Guaranty.The incumbent will evaluate delinquent loans based on sound financial information, recognize and use escalation techniques as appropriate and utilize all available information to quickly resolve past due loans. Primary Responsibilities: Analyzes financial statements/spreads, prepares recommendations regarding credit quality, loan grading, etc. Is responsible for customer service telephone calls and inquiries and logs, assigns and tracks all received requests. Documents loan files to support approved actions. Reviews credit reports and other documents affecting repayment ability or affecting payment of SBA loan guarantee.Prepares and submits deferments for review and approval. Retrieves credit file / review from underwriting software and original approval. Manages and services independently a portfolio of assigned loans. Exercises decision-making and authority to minimize organizational risk by leveraging operational controls.Determines whether proper course of action is permitted by the SBA, in accordance with SOP guidelines, federal regulations and the Bank's SBApolicy. Contributes to organizational projects and improvement initiatives. Elevates loans 60 days or greater past due, or where debt will not be recouped, to appropriate internal business unit. Generates collection letters to borrowers.Reconciles misapplied payments. Ensures mitigation strategy has been taken to collect and resolve debts.Prepares monthly status reports. Properly documents all collection efforts on appropriate banking systems. Conducts a thorough review of loan collateral and recommends the appropriate course of action to secure or dispose to mitigate Bank's exposure. Documents servicing file with recommendation.Act as liaisons and works closely with Special Lending. Complete customer requests such as draws, preparation of borrowing base certificates, etc. Manage the front end of multiple disbursement non-construction loans. Performs other related duties and projects as assigned.
