Position Summary

The primary responsibility of this position is to supervise employees within the department. The focus will be the day to day activities ensuring the work is performed safely with the highest quality, lowest cost and on time.

LOCATION:

Requires daily onsite attendance; this is not a remote-work position.


Duties And Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL:

  • Assume responsibility for the safety, quality, delivery and cost of the department.
  • Ensure a safe working environment by enforcing compliance with all safety policies and procedures.
  • Coach direct reportsfor career growth and excellence.
  • Plan, organize and supervise the plant operations according to production and financial plan.
  • Review the schedule and manpower resources to ensure production schedule is met.
  • Review and approve the daily/weekly time sheets of direct reports for accuracy.
  • Verify policies/procedures are followed to ensure that the product specifications are met.
  • Monitor employee attendance and absenteeism and hold employees accountable as necessary.
  • Communicate daily with the Manufacturing Manager on any NC, schedule changes or significant deviations from plan.
  • Review work instructions, JSEA's and procedures - Includes issuing and implementation.
  • Maintain pertinent MDI (Management of Daily Improvement) boards in the assigned department.
  • Drive improvements in efficiency by equipment maintenance and upgrades as well as process improvements.
  • Create and revise systems and procedures by analyzing operating practices, record-keeping systems, forms of controls, and budgetary and personnel requirements; implementing changes.
  • Ensure operation of equipment by calling for repairs; evaluating new equipment and techniques with Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Assist with new equipment purchases/modifications, project meetings, Engineering NC dispositions.
  • Ensure visibleleadershipby engagement with all department personnel with regards to safety, quality, cost and delivery.
  • Maintain a good rapport with all levels in the department to ensure open and honest communication.
  • Ensure the continued strength of Oceaneering's Culture and Core Values; hold employees accountable for commitments.

Qualifications

REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of manufacturing experience.
  • Minimum 5 years experience supervising manufacturing operations.
  • Knowledge of MS Word and Excel.

DESIRED:

  • Knowledge of PeopleSoft and Power BI.
  • Understanding of Full Absorption Accounting.
  • Understanding of Capacity Planning.
  • Visual Shop Methodologies.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND OTHER CHARACTERISTICS:

  • Exhibit a high level of professionalism; use sound judgment and personal initiative.
  • Have good communication and organizational skills.
