The Windows and Devices organization is at the forefront of this exciting AI-fueled inflection point in computing, and we have bold ambitions for this next chapter in our product making journey.The Windows and Devices organization is seeking a Director of Communications to help shape and lead the organization's narrative and public perception - both internal and external to Microsoft. The Director of Communications will craft and guide strategic messaging for the organization and its leadership. This person will collaborate closely with organizational leadership to deliver storytelling and branding that helps advance and support the business, product, and cultural objectives for Windows and Devices.Microsoft's mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. ResponsibilitiesYou will focus on critical priority areas as you drive the communications strategy. This will involve enhancing thought leadership and contributing to innovative campaigns while generating momentum for Microsoft's offerings.You will drive collaboration with others to produce communications materials and tactics, leading across teams as needed. You will plan and execute preparations and create content for external engagements and events, including Microsoft Tier 1 events (Build, Ignite, etc.), partnering with Marketing and PR teams.You will lead storytelling across teams while using data and insights to drive storytelling opportunities. You'll also develop and create ideas for collateral materials for use in a range of initiatives and events.You will leverage your deep expertise of stakeholders to execute tasks, as well as manage and refine expectations and priorities. You'll also identify opportunities to enhance public perception, and lead action to address potential reputation risk issues.You will monitor and analyze the impact of messaging for a given issue, then create responses as needed. You'll also drive strategy by gathering and synthesizing data from various sources, as well as by determining which metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate.You will develop and maintain an understanding of the business strategy and broader industry context and competitive positioning, utilizing this information to inform communications strategy and asset development. |
