Manufacturing Supervisor - 3rd Shift (8pm to 4am)

Who we are:

Atkore is a recipient of a Great Place to Work certification and a Top Workplaces USA award! We are currently looking for a Manufacturing Supervisor - 2nd/3rd Shift to be based out of Phoenix, AZ. Reporting to the Value Stream Manager, this person must display exceptional technical skills, ability to problem solve, and the expertise to provide necessary maintenance solutions. This position has supervisory responsibility of the Maintenance Technician team and may require 24/7 support for major plant maintenance issues.

Who we are looking for:

We are currently searching for a Manufacturing Supervisor to be based out of our Phoenix location. Reporting to the Production Manager, this person will be responsible for supervising staff with an emphasis on teamwork, continuous improvement and accomplishment of safety, quality, delivery, and cost goals.

What you'll do:



  • Support and actively participate in the continuous improvement of the Company's safety, health, and environmental policies and procedures.
  • Audit product quality and processes to ensure conformance to specifications and direct set-up and adjustments of machines.
  • Establish or adjust work procedures or schedules to meet customer's
  • Implement changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiencies of shop, department, and work crew.
  • Partner with Safety and/or HR to investigate, resolve and provide corrective measures for accidents, injuries, production, and personnel issues.
  • Ensure that the team honors our Atkore core values of Accountability, Teamwork, Integrity, Respect, and Excellence in all aspects of their daily work.



What you'll bring:



  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Operations Management or Engineering
  • 5 years of previous manufacturing experience including 2 years of supervisory experience in the manufacturing industry.
  • Effective leadership and communication skills with the ability to collaborate with other cross functional team members.
  • Capability to develop diverse teams with effective cross training and evaluation
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications and experience working with ERP systems, such as SAP or J.D. Edwards.
  • Aptitude to logically approach equipment troubleshooting situations and take corrective
  • Ability to analyze reports and performance
  • Lean manufacturing experience or working in a company-based business system

Within 3 months, you'll:



  • Complete your Atkore immersion
  • Understand how your job will help deliver Atkore's
  • Understand your team's strengths and
  • Gain an understanding of the products and
  • Gain an understanding of the training materials and procedures your team
  • Update daily production reports and KPI



Within 6 months, you'll:



  • Partner with Safety, Quality, and HR to investigate and provide corrective actions for on- the-job safety injuries, customer complaints, and labor relations issues.
  • Identify ways to strengthen the team's commitment to Atkore's core values of Accountability, Teamwork, Integrity, Respect and Excellence.
  • Take full ownership of the shift's Lean Daily Management, Gemba, and KPI
  • Fully understand how you and your team impact Safety, Quality, Delivery, and



Within 12 months, you'll:



  • Be managing an efficient team that meets or exceeds performance
  • Create and update reports, training materials and procedures, as
  • Drive Lean Transformation strategy for your Drive and implement projects to improve SQDC.
  • Have meaningful conversations with your direct reports to improve their engagement, alignment, and performance.

As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay for this position is $67,920 - $93,390. Placement in the range depends on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, relevant experience, skills, seniority, performance, shift, travel requirements, and business or organizational needs and may change over time. Other compensation may include, but not limited to, overtime, shift differentials, bonuses, commissions, stock, and other incentives.
