Requisition ID req33811 Working Title Data Scientist 1 Position Grade 14 Position Summary The Division of Translational Informatics, within the Department of Internal Medicine, is seeking a Data Scientist with the following job specifications. Under general supervision, and in close collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team, with expertise spanning biomedical and computational domains, design and develop research software for advanced analytics based on data collection and storage, data mining, exploratory data analysis, and interactive visualization to make sense of large and complex datasets. The tasks include design, implementation, and maintenance of complex data workflows, documenting them clearly, testing them on simulated and real-world datasets and generating experimental results and incorporate the implemented algorithms in a robust software package for dissemination. The position also involves writing research reports and manuscripts for publication, and preparing and delivering presentations in various settings, including scientific conferences. The position will require learning new knowledge and skills, as needed by project goals, and to keep up with advances in science and technology. Additional Job Requirements: * Desire and ability to learn new knowledge and skills. * Experience with cheminformatics, bioinformatics, and other areas of biomedical informatics are desirable. * Experience with cloud services (esp. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
