THE POSITION

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this role, you will oversee department projects within District 6, ensuring that cultural resources are considered in an environmentally responsible manner. You will address challenges related to cultural resource issues that arise during the planning, design, construction, and maintenance of highway and transportation development projects. Your responsibilities will include preparing scopes of work for cultural resource studies, reviewing environmental documents for compliance with departmental policies, and ensuring their accuracy and completeness. Additionally, you will monitor archaeological investigations to assess site boundaries, significance, and potential impacts. You will also conduct quality control on district projects and support the implementation of the department's preservation plan.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • This position will be headquartered at District 6 Office in King of Prussia or a maintenance building in Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, or Philadelphia Counties, if space is available.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Two or more years of experience working on an architectural survey, an architectural restoration and preservation project or program, and a bachelor's degree in architectural history, American history, art history or course work in Pennsylvania history; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
