This position is eligible for Eskaton's health benefits package the first of the month following 60 days of employment and Paid Time Off benefits program after 90 days of employment.

Position Summary:
Applies understanding and knowledge of computer software and hardware to assist users through diagnoses and resolution of problems with follow-up steps. Records and prioritizes requests for assistance in appropriate logs. Coordinates referrals to appropriate technical, professional, or service personnel for services, repairs, and training. Monitors the operation of the centralized computing facility; monitors system performance; and analyzes potential problems and takes corrective action or seeks assistance as needed. Provides installation and support for end user computer equipment.

The starting salary for this position ranges from $29.00 to $43.25/hour. Factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations may influence base pay offered.

Position Responsibilities include:



  • Receives and provides initial response to requests for assistance to the Information System Department.
  • Provides immediate assistance to users within the limits of the remote help functions and skill level available.
  • Provides continuing notification to users on the status of existing help requests.
  • Maintains up to date knowledge of computer operating procedures and operating standards.
  • Processes routine and requested job streams based upon schedule, priority, and special instructions; ensures accurate response to job stream requirements; adheres to schedules in order to meet deadlines; documents deviations from scheduled processes, and maintains operational logs, and documentation of all jobs, backups, etc.
  • Reviews abnormal end of job conditions and other suspicious messages from system utilities and software; communicates problems to the proper staff; documents problems and takes corrective action as directed; contacts field service representatives to report equipment problems, documents equipment problems and performs modem tests as needed.


Qualifications

Education:
Requires two years of college with emphasis in computer technology or a combination of college education and equivalent work experience. Appropriate certification levels for the technology in use at Eskaton. Certification such as A+, Cisco, Citrix, and Microsoft is preferred.

Training and Experience:
Four or more years of experience, with two years required on equipment used by the company. Local and Wide Area Network, data communication, mid-range computer, and microcomputer experience are required.

Job Knowledge:
A working knowledge of modern information technology systems. Knowledge of information systems requirements for installing and maintaining computer software, computer equipment and various business applications. A working knowledge of operations procedures with expertise in job control, job recovery, file management, documentation and procedure writing. Must have working knowledge of computers, cabling standards, local/wide area networks and data communication networks and standards.

The final candidate must successfully pass Eskaton's post offer, pre-employment testing which includes a criminal background check, drug test, TB screen test and health screen.
