Production Manager

TSC is in looking to hire an experienced Production Manager based in our Plymouth, MA location. This role supports the Product Director and is solely responsible for the timely and accurate fulfillment of manufacturing orders. This includes but is not limited to, developing a production schedule, managing relationships with external manufacturing partners and suppliers, ensuring company quality and production standards are met, supervising the manufacturing team, and proactively resolving material issues. This role is in-person and hands-on, requiring close collaboration with the product development team to optimize results. This role will be critical in scaling TSC's manufacturing capabilities in the Plymouth, MA facility, ensuring cost efficiency, inventory planning, maintaining desirable lead times, and driving continuous operational improvements.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

Strategic Leadership

  • Maintain situational awareness of overall product objectives from the Product Director and position the production team to meet those objectives
  • Establish a culture of efficient, organized, and safe manufacturing practices among the production team
  • Develop and implement processes that account for all applicable industry standards for safety and quality in coordination with the Quality Manager
  • Foster professional relationships with all logistics stakeholders while working proactively to report and resolve issues impacting operations

Operational Oversight

  • Develop and implement production schedules to ensure timely delivery and strict adherence to quality standards as developed by QA team.
  • Monitor inventory status for production and coordinate with procurement and logistics teams to maintain the ability to meet all contractual orders
  • Prepare and submit production reports and metrics such as average lead time and true cost to produce one unit

Process Improvement

  • Identify opportunities for process optimization and cost reduction.
  • Lead initiatives aimed at streamlining operations and enhancing production efficiency.
  • Collaborates with continuous improvement team as necessary.

Team Management

  • Direct a team of professionals while fostering collaboration across R&D, supply chain, and quality assurance functions.
  • Work alongside product development, procurement and logistics teams on a daily basis to ensure on time and in full production.
  • Evaluate and develop team members, supporting their career growth and promoting operational excellence while resolving staff issues

Risk Management

  • Identify potential risks within manufacturing processes and develop robust mitigation strategies.
  • Maintain current knowledge of the applicable standards while collaborating with QA and Compliance managers to ensure continuous compliance with safety, regulatory, and quality standards.
  • Understand and monitor the various aspects of the production process to ensure human safety, system safety and product integrity.

Reporting and Analytics

  • Monitor performance metrics and prepare regular reports for product management.
  • Utilize data-driven insights on inventory, cost and build-times to inform strategic decisions and drive operational improvements.
  • Build and maintain productive relationships with external manufacturing partners

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in manufacturing, production, supply chain management, business administration, engineering/technical discipline and 5 or more years of related experience
  • US Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance
  • Proven experience in managing a manufacturing team and producing accurate schedules is essential.
  • Demonstrate strong manufacturing, inventory and supply-chain knowledge
  • Ability to establish production objectives based on strategic objectives and drive a production team to meet them
  • Working knowledge of the principles, procedures, and best practices in the industry
  • Proficient with MS Office, ERP systems and other related business software
