Job Responsibilities |
Assist the Athletics Communications Coordinator to oversee the sports information needs of the University's 26 Division
III intercollegiate sports.
Serve as the primary sports information contact for select teams and support with coverage for additional teams when needed.
- Writing press releases, game previews, game recaps and feature stories
- Using statistical software (StatCrew, PrestoStats, NCAA Live Stats) to record live statistics
- Manage the official athletics website, including updating record books, updating rosters and schedules, posting results and writing player/coach biographies
- Manage live streaming for home athletic contests and special events
- Assisting with the management of the department's social media feeds
- Handling requests from media outlets, conference officials and the NCAA
- Nominating student-athletes for various awards and honors
- Athletics Hall of Fame Ceremony support and content development
- Senior Athlete Award Banquet event support and content development
- Adhere to NCAA and conference rules/polices
- Training and managing student workers
- Generating content using BoxOut Sports
- Other responsibilities as assigned

Education / Experience |
A bachelor's degree in Journalism, sport management, public relations or a related field. |
Competencies / Skills |
- Adequate knowledge of statistical software (Presto Stats, StatCrew, NCAA Live Stats) for live stats
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to navigate SIDEARM Sports websites
- Strong record-keeping and research skills
- Experience with Production Truck and HUDL VCloud for live streaming
- Experience with social media platforms such as X and Instagram
- Experience with Adobe Suite programs such as Photoshop and InDesign
- Ability to work independently and juggle multiple tasks/responsibilities
- Ability to handle tight deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work collaboratively with employees inside and outside of athletics
- Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with coaches and student-athletes
- Ability to follow directions and adhere to department polices and procedures
- Photography and creative media experience preferred but not required

Work Environment |
Well lighted, well ventilated pleasant work areas - to include press box and scorer's table. The job entails normal sitting, standing and walking throughout the course of the day. |
Equipment to be Used |
Computers (Mac and PC), clock and scoreboard controls, media equipment and other equipment related to operating a press box/scorer's table. Strong working knowledge of Adobe Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, After Effects). |

Must be able to work weekends, travel, drive rental vehicles and be away from home for extended periods of time. Extensive weekends and evenings are required of the job. |
