We are currently seeking an
Accountant to join our Central Recon team in Operational Accounting. There are plenty of growth opportunities within the enterprise.
Accountant's duties include the activities listed below, but are not limited to:
- Understand the processes driving accounting activity in the general ledger and resultant reconciliations
- Execute, review and analyze account reconciliation and certification function for assigned GLs and internal DDAs, concerning primarily the accuracy and proactive resolution of aging outstanding items and elevating risk
- Develop, document and train others on reconciliation processes and procedures. Provide back-up, cross-training and support for team members
- Participate and act in a consultative role as a reconciliation SME on projects impacting Accounting
- Perform and assist with internal and external audits and support requests
- Provide support to internal business partners to assist in the adherence of the Company's account reconciliation certification policy
- Identify opportunities to improve reconciliation and accounting processes and formulate proposals, procedures and/or processes and partner with operations and accounting to implement
- Contribute to in-depth review of reconciliations to identify and execute against opportunities for further automation and/or centralization
Qualifications:
- Preferred bachelor's degree in accounting, business, or related field
- 2+ years applicable experience.
- A combination of education and experience may meet job requirement
- Knowledge of GAAP and a strong understanding of GL account reconciliation and balancing principles with an emphasis on research and resolution
- Self-Starter with a positive and team player attitude, who can succeed individually and part of a team, works independently with limited supervision, adapts well to changes, and can work under tight deadlines and with a sense of urgency
- Must be able to undertake self-directed learning to understand processes and systems and respond quickly, execute innovative solutions to problems and be proactive in solving issues
- Requires strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with both management and team members exercising good judgement in choosing appropriate communication channels
- Must be detail oriented and able to prioritize schedule based on deliverables, goals and timelines to meet commitments on time
