We're looking for an experienced SEO Writer with a focus on Financial Content who is passionate about storytelling and data-driven content to join our team. This individual will be responsible for producing high-quality, search-optimized content that informs and inspires investors and finance-curious readers. You will collaborate closely with our editorial and marketing teams to create content that ranks well on Google, engages our audience, and helps drive new readership to our platforms. If you're equal parts skilled writer, SEO tactician, and market enthusiast... and want your work read by thousands of serious investors, this role could be the perfect fit. You'll play a key role in helping us build visibility, authority, and traffic for some of the most respected names in independent financial research. This position reports to the Director of SEO and works cross-functionally with SEO, marketing, and editorial teams.
Key Responsibilities
Write and optimize long-form and short-form content, including articles, evergreen pages, blog posts, and lead generation pages focused on investing, stock market trends, and economic insights.
Follow on-page SEO best practices for headlines, meta tags, internal linking, formatting, and structured data.
Repurpose existing content by updating and refreshing underperforming pages to improve search visibility.
Monitor performance of published content and iterate based on engagement, rankings, and traffic insights.
Collaborate cross-functionally with editors, designers, and marketers to align messaging, visual elements, and promotional strategies.
Requirements & Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in SEO content writing, preferably in the finance, business, or investing verticals.
- Strong understanding of on-page SEO techniques, keyword research, and content optimization strategies.
- A portfolio of published SEO content demonstrating ranking results, clarity, and voice.
- Excellent grammar, writing, editing, and research skills - with the ability to make complex financial concepts accessible.
- Comfortable working in a deadline-driven, editorial environment with multiple stakeholders.
- Ability to balance editorial integrity and SEO performance - you can write for both readers and robots.
- Bachelor's degree preferred but not required.
- Bonus: Experience working in a newsletter, financial media, or subscription-based content business.
- Nice-to-Have
Familiarity with basic HTML and Wordpress.
Background in finance, economics, investing, or related fields.
Experience using AI writing tools like ChatGPT or Jasper to assist - not replace - your creative process.

- Our Headquarters are located in Baltimore, MD. This role is eligible for remote work in the US with scheduled trips to the HQ office.
