Loyola University Chicago is seeking an Assistant Professor to teach undergraduate and graduate classes in applied calculus, ordinary differential equations, and real analysis; Advise and mentor students; Conduct fundamental research in math; Participate in professional conferences to disseminate research findings; Serve on committees to perform basic department and university functions; Develop and update curriculum.

Ph.D. in Mathematics or related field plus 3 years related experience. Prior experience must include: Perform development and application of variational and PDE techniques for the study of Free Boundary Problems; Perform development and analysis of mathematical models describing interactions between fluids and solids; Perform asymptotic analysis and apply Gamma-convergence methods to study problems in continuum mechanics and materials science; Analyze dynamical problems for viscoelastic solids.

Full time. $46,000 - $95,000/year.

The anticipated salary range for this position is in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement. This salary range is for a nine-month academic appointment. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on a range of factors including, but not limited to, the experience and qualifications of the selected candidate including years since terminal degree; training; field or discipline; budget availability; internal equity; and external market pay for comparable jobs.
