The Program Associate, Graduate Clinical Placement is responsible for coordination of clinical and field experience placements of students enrolled in the
PMC,
MSN, and
DNP programs. This role serves as the liaison between School of Nursing (
SON), GW
SON students, and clinical partners, and maintains a strong relationship with the local healthcare community. The incumbent will initiate, negotiate and review contracts for execution between the university and our clinical affiliates, support students in their searches and tracking their compliance items.
The Program Associate, Graduate Clinical Placement position requires strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, critical thinking, and be able to work autonomously. This position will report to the Director of Clinical Placement & Compliance. The Program Associate, Graduate Clinical Placement position will collaborate with Clinical Placement team members in the assignment of clinical sites, as well as provide support for students needing clinical or field placements. The Program Associate, Graduate Clinical Placement will process requests, communicate requirements and steps to students, assist with data collection, maintain relationships with faculty, and present clinical placement policies and procedures to ensure that clinical placements are processed and obtained.
Responsibilities include:
- Works independently to process clinical and field experience requests for PMC, MSN, & DNP students. Cultivates and sustains good relationships with preceptors and sites and maintains preceptor and clinical site databases.
- Coordinates and performs record keeping and correspondence related to clinical/practicum experiences for all graduate nursing students.
- Organizes and participates in orientation sessions and other educational workshops.
- Works in collaboration with the program leadership to ensure program-specific information is communicated with students.
- Responsible for initiating, negotiating and executing affiliation agreements/contracts between GW SON and external clinical site/partners to ensure compliance with university regulations.
- Monitors student compliance through compliance tracking system.
- Coordinates clinical activities, create clinical reports tracking student clinical experiences in the clinical management program as required for accreditation.
- Assists with data collection, sets up data sets, and provides periodic data analysis to identify opportunities for process and outcome improvements.
- Develops and facilitates effective working relationships and communication as well as providing quality service with both internal and external constituents, clinical sites/preceptors.
- Effectively utilizes the clinical management system/program to manage all aspects of the clinical placement process, including but not limited to student placements, evaluation, documentation, and reporting as needed to meet CCNE and program standards.
- Develops and maintains tracking systems and databases to ensure the efficient and effective management of administrative and clinical activities, and provides proactive reporting analysis to leadership and clinical curriculum committee.
- Participates in the CCNE accreditation meetings and on-site evaluation.

Minimum Qualifications: |
Qualified candidates will hold a Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. |

Preferred Qualifications: |
- Master's degree or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Clinical placement experience preferred.
- Experience working with students and faculty preferred.
- Experience reviewing and analyzing legal contracts preferred.
- Experience with clinical placement tracking software (Core, Castle Branch, Complio).
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent communication (both oral and written) and strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and problem solve.
