This position will be based inFort Bliss Army Base1733 Pleasonton RoadFort Bliss, TX 79916 The Network Engineer / Site Lead will lead the seamless execution of site installations through day-to-day management of a multi-discipline onsite team and foster positive relationships and collaboration with onsite customer personnel as the primary technical interface. The role requires in-depth expertise with Cisco and Meraki network technologies to support the design, deployment, and maintenance of both wired and wireless enterprise networks. Responsibilities:
- Identifies, gathers and reviews requirements collection supporting the design and implementation of Wired/wireless LANs
- Performs site surveys to design the network and identify the device placement and materials required to implement and configure wired/wireless LANs
- Ensures the operation and maintenance of the information technology and network infrastructure systems
- Responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and reliable operation of computer systems, servers, and networks. Contributes to the overall performance, security, and availability of the program's Information Technology (IT) environment
- Performs test and evaluation of wired and wireless networks to confirm performance and security in accordance with established thresholds
- Diagnoses and resolves network-related issues, installs network hardware, implements network configurations, and provides technical support to end-users
- Configures, implements and operates IT and network applications to manage and perform network management and orchestration functions in production, lab, staging and test environments
- Manages and assigns relevant Internet Protocol (IP) space in coordination with other systems across the customer enterprise
- Meets with the customer regularly to report on the status of the orchestration implementation and overall network health
- Ensures the direct down trace configuration, troubleshooting and touch labor, and providing input for other local IT personnel assisting with network maintenance
- Leads and collaborates with assigned technical team to implement base configuration files for any changes that need to be made to new devices
- Train technicians and junior engineers.
- Coordinate with appropriate site representatives for site access, equipment storage, security, safety, facilities, etc.
- Report progress against plans, schedule status, issues, and risks to the Program Manager.
- Provide recommendations to eliminate problems and make improvements.
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
- Must be able to obtain a DoD Public Trust; active Secret Clearanceis preferred.
- Bachelor's Degree in a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, professional training or experience (6 years).
- Proven expertise and hands-on experience withCisco Catalyst, Meraki dashboard,and Meraki MX/Z/AP series.
- Candidate must be DoD 8570 IAT Level I or Level II compliant.
- Experience in general networking and network administration, upgrade and operations.
- Good technical writing skills with established experience producing reports using the Microsoft Office Suite including Visio.Knowledge of elementary design to the concept level.
- An understanding of telecommunication room (TR), CAT 6, crimps, and wiring standards. Having a BICSI certification is a plus.
- Experience with team leading, site survey, site installation and configuration of wired and wireless networks.
- Use measuring and diagnostic equipment to test, adjust and optimize wireless network system operation.
- An understanding of wired networks to include equipment (router, switch and VPN), protocols (VLan, Trunking and QoS) and the propagation of network traffic. Including SDWAN, VXLAN and EVPN.
- Experience working aloft and understanding of OSHA rules for work on man lifts.

- The ability to travel up to 85% of the time.
- Exceptional people skills with focus on good customer relations and ability to communicate effectively with all levels of military and government personnel.
- A valid driver's license is also required.
