Job Summary

Yarde Metals is looking for a shipping coordinator to join our Operations Team in Southington , CT. A shipping coordinator is responsible for scheduling and monitoring the shipment of material with freight forwarders and outside carriers. The coordinator is also responsible for providing administrative and clerical support to operations.

Job Responsibilities.

SAFETY FIRST!
Coordinate outgoing shipments with outside carriers and freight forwarders.
Prepare packing lists, bills of lading, manifests, and shipping documents.
Create and monitor truckloads in system to shuttle deliveries by generating paperwork and tracking data.
Maintain a list of current export orders including status, location, and ship date.
Coordinate export orders and deliveries and monitor status, locations, and ship dates.
Process and scan work orders, pull tickets, and other documents.
Expedite orders and provide internal and external customer service.
Distribute mail and paperwork received from branches.
Attend export certification training and maintain certification.
Perform additional responsibilities as directed by supervisor.

Requirements & Qualifications

***This is a SAFETY SENSITIVE position: requires operating heavy machinery***

High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience directly related to the duties of the position.
Prior experience processing shipping and receiving documents in ERP.
Experience arranging UPS and common carriers.
Must be extremely detail-oriented and possess accurate data entry ability.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
